クラウドファンディング・サイト「Kickstarter」に登場した「Heng Balance Lamp（ヘン・バランス・ランプ）」の点灯方法は、上記のいずれでもない。
このランプの構造はとてもシンプルだ。木製のフレームと、そこに埋め込まれた細長いライト。あとは、木製のボール2個がそれぞれ紐で枠にくっついているだけ。木枠に置いてある下のボールを持ち上げて、ぶらさがっている上のボールに近づけるとライトがつく仕組みだ。
昔の電灯は紐を引っ張って点灯したが、このランプの場合は、紐を持ち上げるわけだ。2個のボールが近づくと、ボール内部の磁石が引き合うので、下のボールは宙に浮いたままとなる。
